T. C. Duck here with a different kind of reveal. Instead of showing off a cover, I’m revealing the reward tiers for my upcoming BackerKit campaign. The Spider Island BackerKit includes all physical editions of the book and will kick off May 28th and end June 30th. It’s in collaboration with the Book Bazaar, so some of you long-time JamReads' followers might recognize a few authors in the collection ;)

Let me tell you about the book:

Spider-verse meets LOST in this epic fantasy thriller inspired by the hit show Survivor. When disaster strikes and the set of the Far Island's most popular reality show vanishes, it's up to a contestant, a medic, and a safety contractor to find the missing island and save the archipelago from destruction.

Paperback

This basic tier is for anyone who just wants the story and doesn’t care about bling. The paperback comes signed and with your choice of character bookmark.

Hardback

For folks who prefer a sturdy book, the hardback is an excellent choice. It comes with a dust jacket and alternative case design, classic formatting, and like the paperback, it’ll be signed with your choice of character bookmark.

Hardback + Prints

Do you like character art? This tier comes with five small prints, all drawn by me, the author, plus the same rewards as the previous tier.

Hardback + Vellum

Vellum is a type of semi-transparent tracing paper that turns the text itself into a work of art. Vellum overlays are designed to slip into your book, acting as removable art pages. They do not alter the text, and if you want your vellum prints to be more permanent, I’ll be offering free by-hand installation on the BackerKit surveys (Note: hand-installation may result in small errors during binding)

This tier also comes with regular prints, the signed hardback, and your choice of bookmark.

DELUXE TIER: Ra-Tan Special Edition

By far my favorite reward of the campaign, my special editions. These books have everything. Sprayed edges, custom endpapers, two color maps, a color title page, spot UV dust jacket, and a completely new design, featuring custom chapter headers and part divides. These books are gorgeous. They come with all the benefits of the previous tiers, plus a tasseled metal bookmark.

DELUXE TIER: Hand-bound Editions

Prefer the style of the classic editions but want something a little more special? I’ll be hand-binding and numbering eight copies of Spider Island for the campaign. Hand-bound editions have an exposed spine with a coptic/ladder stitch, deckled edges, cloth cover with foiled design, 24lb/90g Astroparche aged text paper, and gold endpapers. The tier comes with an extra paperback. Did I mention there’s only eight of them!

Hand-bounds are sure to go quickly, so be sure to follow the campaign for early access.
