The Last City blurb reveal, by NC Koussis

15 Sept 2022

Today we have the honour of being able to be the first place where you can read the blurb from The Last City, the next novel from NC Koussis. After a solid debut in The Sword of Mercy and Wrath, and the novella The Sword of Smoke and Salt, the saga will be continued in The Last City, which is expected for Q2 2023 (tentatively)

But first of all, let’s take a look of this awesome art of it!

So let’s take a look at the official blurb (and if you haven’t read The Sword of Mercy and Wrath, be careful, because it contains moderate spoilers!!!):

Fifteen years after the events of The Sword of Mercy and Wrath, conquerors from across the ocean have arrived. The Manisar use their tattoo-covered bodies as the canvas, and draw razor-sharp blades that cut through plate armor like butter. Selene becomes their envoy. But as the Lady of Beasts, she has her wukodlak followers to keep happy as well. Fending off the Manisars’ many manipulations and strange customs is a task she didn’t sign up for, but it’s a task she embraces to keep her family and the wukodlaks alive. Danger waits on the horizon, however. Her rebellious son, Istan considers his mother a traitor, and makes a dangerous bargain with the desperate remains of the Order of the Golden Sword.

One last city remains before the Continent falls to the Manisar. Istrya, the capital of the fallen Empire, is a city built on an island, surrounded by enormous walls, thought to be impregnable. Arista, maidservant to the empress, has made killing Manisar assassins a pastime. But the walls will fall eventually, everyone says, and the foodstores ran out a year ago. It’s only when they run out of people to eat, everyone says, that the city will truly fall.

From A Vueltas, we can only thank NC Koussis for the opportunity, as we greatly enjoyed The Sword of Mercy and Wrath, and can’t wait to see how this develops!
