My Review

Fate of the Sun King is the third novel in the epic romantasy series Artefacts of Ouranos, written by Nisha J. Tuli, and published by Orbit Books. A third instalment on the series that takes a more steamy route, rewarding the readers after teasing us so many times during the second one, not only the romance front, but which also continues developing the lore of Ouranos while Lor continues discovering her powers and more about the truth behind her family.

If Rule of the Aurora King was the slowest burn, Tuli decides to go all in with Fate of the Sun King: the tension between Lor and Nadir was at all time high, and finally they decide to indulge to what their hearts are screaming. But not only Lor and Nadir get an excellent plot on this instalment, as Gabriel takes the spotlight and we are given a gigantic window into Atlas' plans and his ideas for Lor.

However, if there's something that also characterizes the Artefacts of Ouranos is the rich lore, and how it is slowly shown to the reader. Through flashbacks, we finally understand the reason for artifacts' existence, and more about Lor's ancestors; in those passages, we take a break from the tension of the main plot, and simultaneously, discover more about Ouranos as a world.

The pacing on this instalment is excellent, hooking us from the start and not stopping until a finale, that, despite being a cliffhanger, it resolves one of the main plot points, setting all in motion for the great ending in the fourth book. If you come for the romance, you will not only enjoy Lor and Nadir's one, but we will also get hints from Willows' one, plus an exploration of Gabriel's feelings; a quite steamy book after a relatively slow one.

Fate of the Sun King is an excellent third instalment; as you could say, it is the payoff for the slowburn of the second one, and if you are looking for a great romantasy with epic elements, I seriously recommend the Artefacts of Ouranos series. I can't wait to see the great finale on Tale of the Heart Queen.
